Menstrual disorders affect many women, yet they often go unspoken or overlooked. Whether it’s heavy bleeding (menorrhagia), painful periods (dysmenorrhea), irregular cycles, or absence of menstruation (amenorrhea), these issues can make daily life difficult and are sometimes a sign of deeper health concerns like fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS, or hormone imbalances. Unfortunately, many women delay seeking help because they’ve been told their symptoms are just a “normal” part of having a period. The Women’s Health World Conference (WHWC) brings more attention to menstrual health by treating it as a vital part of overall well-being. The conference looks at how healthcare providers can better identify and manage menstrual disorders and explores new treatment approaches It’s a step toward making sure that period-related issues are taken seriously and that women everywhere have the support they need to manage them with dignity and care.
