Disasters, conflicts, and pandemics have long-term psychological effects on affected communities. This World Public Health World Conference (PHWC)session will explore how mental health services can be integrated into emergency response. Experts will share best practices in trauma-informed care, community-based mental health programs, and policy interventions to promote long-term mental well-being in the aftermath of crises. Case studies from refugee camps and disaster areas will showcase best practices in delivering psychological support. The meeting will also consider mental health issues experienced by emergency workers.
